Stone construction unlike brick which are laid are laid in a uniform pattern; most stone is laid in an irregular pattern this gives stone a timeless beauty and the guarantee that no two jobs will ever be alike.

Stone Veneer

Stone veneers are built in many different thicknesses. Walls built of 4’’ or 6’’ thick stones must be supported by a concrete footer that is poured below the frost line. Usually these walls are laid against a concrete or block wall.

Dry Laid Stone

B.D. McCaslin Co. has built many dry laid stone walls that are constructed without a frost line. The advantage of these walls are their ability to let water pass through without hurting the durability and strength of the wall. This usually limits the height of walls, but it opens up unlimited landscaping and terracing possibilities. Varying colors and thickness of stone create a distinct and enduring look

Stone Patterns

B.D. McCaslin stone patios are installed over rebar reinforced concrete. Stones are laid either in a geometric of random pattern. All stones are installed with type “s’” high strength mortar. The advantage of stone over concrete is our ability or repair cracked mortar or replace a cracked stone. Unlike stone, cracked concrete is difficult if not impossible to repair.
